A Call to the Zaza Diaspora

Until today, the Zaza people and the Zazaki language have remained largely unknown to the world. Our identity has often—and sometimes deliberately—been misunderstood, misrepresented, or absorbed into other identities, most commonly Kurdish or Turkish ones. Needless to say, much of the world still does not know who we are, where we come from, or that our language and culture even exist.

Perhaps the time has come to raise our own voice.

Today, Zazas live across many countries and continents. We are a global diaspora — students, workers, artists, academics, entrepreneurs, and families building lives far from our ancestral lands.

If we remain scattered and silent, the world will continue to remain unaware of us. But if we come together, cooperate, and support one another, we can make our voice heard—and finally break the global silence and indifference toward the Zaza identity.

Let us unite our efforts to introduce the Zaza people and the Zazaki language to the world. Let us preserve our culture, strengthen our community, and ensure that future generations know who they are and where they come from.
